Designed for ages 13 and up, this hands-on course runs weekly from August to October, blending practical surf training with essential coaching, lifesaving, and beach safety skills. With only eight places available, you’ll receive personalized guidance in a supportive, tight-knit environment.

Ride Stronger, Teach Smarter—Become the Instructor You’re Meant to Be

our 13-week trainee programme uncovers what it takes to guide others on their surfing adventure.

Over 13 weeks of Saturday sessions (each three hours long, timed to suit tidal conditions), you’ll refine your own surfing technique, build fitness through targeted practice and video analysis, and gain experience by shadowing our seasoned instructors.

Along the way, you’ll develop critical first aid and lifesaving skills, strengthen your teamwork and communication, and deepen your knowledge of ocean conditions and beach safety.

By the end, you won’t just be a stronger surfer, you’ll be one step closer to confidently teaching others.

  • Who Can Join? Surfers 13+ who can paddle out, consistently catch and stand on 3ft waves, and have a positive, can-do attitude. No prior teaching experience needed, just enthusiasm and a willingness to learn!

What You’ll Learn:

  • Course Format: 13 weeks, Saturday sessions (3 hours each), August–October, scheduled around the best surf conditions.
  • Cost: £335 total (just £25.77 per session!), offering exceptional value for comprehensive surf instructor training.

Trainee Instructor Programme

FAQ's

  • We are operational between the 1st of April and the 31st of October and can be open everyday.

    We are only limited by tide and daylight for when we can run sessions and may start later/close earlier depending on weather, waves, and demand throughout the season.

  • We're afraid not. Due to the seasonal nature of our offering, and limited availability we can only reserve spaces once full payment has been received.

  • No. We have everything you'll need for your lesson or course.

  • If you wish to change the date of your course booking or switch to a different course within four weeks of your scheduled start date, a £10 administration fee will apply. This fee covers the processing of your request and any necessary adjustments to our schedule with our staff.

    To request a change, please contact us as soon as possible. All amendments are subject to availability, and we cannot guarantee that your preferred alternative date or course will be available.

    For changes made more than six weeks before your start date, no admin fee will be charged.

  • As these courses are so popular, we normally only consider surfers who would like to book the full week rather than odd days due to our seasonal operations and limited availability on each camp.

    However, if you contact us on the Sunday afternoon before the course starts, we can arrange something if space is still available on your desired camp.

  • The all day camps are 9am - 3pm.
